EPL offers volunteers roles across multiple areas, from behind-the-scenes support to face-to-face engagement. They currently run a Teen Volunteer / Reading Buddies program for youth aged 13–17, where volunteers read with younger patrons, assist library staff, and help with literacy initiatives. EPL also lists various other roles supporting community programs, library events, and digital initiatives.
Volunteers must apply via their portal; EPL provides orientation and role descriptions depending on the branch or program. They also have requirements such as a Police Information Check for most roles.
